The Bookworm Forge

Cutting the stone…

The collection

A scholarly caterpillar, 3,000 times over

Bookworm is the official mascot of Published NFT: a green segmented caterpillar with big curious eyes, antennae, and his signature reading glasses. Every one of the 3,000 avatars is the same scholar — what changes is the body he is cut from, what he wears, and the book he is holding.

Animated covers

Not yet available. The Bookworm collection mints in Q1 – Q2 2027, and the Wearables Shop opens alongside it. Everything on this page — the forge, the traits, the rarities and the shop — previews a collection still in development.

The rules, plainly

Three rolls. One stone. No going back.

I

3 rolls, each replacing the last

Your race is assigned, not chosen. Roll again and the previous stone is gone — there is no picking from a shortlist and no returning to one you left. The third roll commits whatever it gives you.

II

Attributes are yours

Eyes and wearables you choose freely before minting, and they stay changeable right up to the transaction. The race is the only part chance decides.

III

Animated covers are burned

Adding a book with an animated cover unlocks the rare attribute tier, and that book is destroyed when you mint. Not locked, not staked, not returned — burned.

The Library Pass is not burned. It is a lifetime library credential; minting records its id in a redemption registry so it keeps working forever, and one pass mints one Bookworm.

Eight trait layers

Layers stack in order, background first and the book last. The body layer carries two lines: the organic caterpillar skins he is born with, and the mineral bodies the forge rolls.

Wearables & backpacks

Bought separately and swapped freely. The backpack is the one that is not cosmetic: it is token-bound, holding NFTs inside its own on-chain account, so whatever is in it travels with the Bookworm when the Bookworm changes hands.

Where this stands

The Bookworm contract is written and verified against the Flow emulator, and it is the source of truth for every rule on this page. It is not deployed to testnet or mainnet, and the collection mints in Q1–Q2 2027. Until then the forge above is the mechanic, played with real rules against no chain — which is why the mint button says so rather than taking a transaction.
